MLC Players & Parents,
This week the Montville Twp. DPW installed safety netting along the fence on the end lines of the fields. This netting was installed to protect spectators, bystanders and cars in the parking lot from errant lacrosse balls. This will now make the outside edges of the fence the only way for players & coaches to enter/exit the fields. Please do not lift up the protective netting and climb over the fence to enter/exit the fields.
As another safety precaution, we ask all parents, siblings, relatives & friends to watch practices and games from the stands or behind the safety netting. Only players and coaches are allowed on the turf at any time including before and after practices & games. Spectators and bystanders are not allowed in the area along the end lines located between the turf and the safety netting/fence. We are aware that some parents like to walk or jog around the fields while their child practices therefore we ask everyone to stay behind the safety netting and off the turf while exercising. Lacrosse balls are constantly being shot and passed during games and practices, which makes this exercise activity unsafe if it is close to the turf. We ask for full cooperation in order for our playing fields to be safe.
We only have everyone’s safety in mind and hope to have full cooperation. Thank you in advance for your understanding with these safety issues and rules. We are looking forward to a great 2012 lacrosse season!
Sincerely,
The Montville Lacrosse Club |
